evaluation question 4

while I made use of online applications, blogger; prezi and slide share, DaFont etc. The most  important technologies I used were Photoshop; garage band and final cut. On these software's I developed a knowledge of specific effects and techniques for example on my film poster for the title I used Photoshop which gave me the opportunity to use shadow effects on three different layers, mixed with the white colour and the font I used created a paranormal look. For the background of my poster i used a grain effect called noise, which creates static this mixed with the layers of grey, black and white made it look like a night sky. I used Photoshop also to my magazine front cover and make the layout have a more professional look, I did this by using the burn tool around the main image which blended it into the page along with following a colour palette that mirrored the magazine's from which I took inspiration, I used DaFont along side Photoshop to increase the amount of creativity I could express and use different fonts for each sell line. I used Final cut to make my final trailer which came with after effects which I used to add the effects to my shots and inter-titles. I added a sound track which I got from the internet without piracy and edited on garage band.

evaluation question 3

What genre do you think my products are?
I think they are horror phycological
What elements of my products give you an idea on the genre?
The effect on the trailer makes me think its illusional or hauntly, also the affect on the font of the poster
do you think my products are a success and why?
I think they are well designed and with a little more work could look very professional.
do you think they work together well as a package and why?
I think they do, apart for the colour of the magazine, maybe try the background the same as the background colour for the poster.
which elements of my product would attract the target audience to the film?
the cinematogrophy in the trailer shows shots which imply thriller and the unkown of what is happening
what do you think the narrative is?
Im unsure on the narrative, i just took a guess that it was about a ghost or a stalker and their prey.

What genre do you think my products are?
horror
What elements of my products give you an idea on the genre?
because it mentions ghosts on the poster plus the font which is used on the poster, just based on the magazine i wouldnt be able to tell the genre.
do you think my products are a success and why?
I think they could be improved and show a bit more planning and preperation. You do not use the same actor as the model you use also there is no dialog in the trailer.
do you think they work together well as a package and why?
when they are together they look like they are connected but if i say them at different times i wouldnt make the connection. I suggest using a font continuisly on th eproducts plus a tag line.
which elements of my product would attract the target audience to the film?
i think maybe the effect of the trailer would interest a film enthuisiast but not the average horror fan

its obvious that its about ghosts, but i dont understand why a ghost is chasing someone through a park.

final print

My poster has changed a lot from my first rough cut, I took on the feedback that I got from my peers and made the correct changes, firstly I made it landscape and edited the opacity and saturation of the face. I then changed my background from plain black to the grainy cloud effect I have now which took me ages to get how I wanted it. it took lots of feedback and tutorials online to get the effect I wanted. from the feedback i got comments that said it was to dark and not enough colour, so now i made the white font stand out by making it brighter, also adding a blurred effect which i learnt from a tutorial on the internet, which also gives it a ghostly look. i believe the layout of my poster is much improved from my last one.

I have transformed my magazine cover from my last rough cut to this which is much improved i think, it has a more professional structure which stands out and sells the trailer of the film well. the colour palette  has stayed the same but i changed from a white background to black and made the font white. I've kept the structure of the masthead and skyline as that was the only feature which i got good feedback on from my last rough cut.
